The Independent reports:
Charles Kennedy said yesterday he will tell President George Bush that "millions of people" opposed the war on Iraq and are concerned by the "tragic consequences which have followed"....The Liberal Democrats are to send a senior figure, probably Jenny Tonge, the MP for Richmond Park, to speak at Thursday's anti-Bush rally.
Once more again: The Independent is scrupulously uninformative on the point, so I shall spell it out. Thursday's rally is being organised by the Stop the War Coalition, which as I have documented from time to time on this blog is headed by a declared supporter of North Korea and run by the Socialist Workers' Party, the editor of whose monthly journal is the Coalition's 'convenor'. While the war was going on the SWP explicitly called for Saddam's victory over British and American troops. The SWP is a totalitarian party that opposes parliamentary democracy and campaigns for the abolition of Israel, a course that could be accomplished only by initiating a second Holocaust against the Jewish people.
Now go back and read the second sentence I have quoted from The Independent.
