I'm sorry for the absence of posts in the last few days. I'll be offline for a few days more, as I'm in the middle of moving home.
I take part in a panel discussion on international affairs on Fareed Zakaria's GPS programme on CNN this Sunday. The other panellists are Jonathan Freedland of The Guardian and John Burns of the New York Times. The discussion was pre-recorded. One of the subjects we talk about is the plight of Gordon Brown. Jonathan maintains that the promise of this most weighty and serious of politicians has not been fulfilled; I respond that the PM has in fact amply fulfilled his potential, being useless, while his electoral position is beyond repair. Anticipating this shocker of a result did not require a great deal of predictive ability.
I live in Zimbabwe and last night watched the CNN program (Fareed Zacharia) I was astonished to finally see someone on CNN -never mind BBC and Sky - whose views do not accord with the usual Leftist Guardian agenda i.e. bash the USA, praise Gordon Brown, Iraq is and always will be a disaster and so on. Where has Oliver Kamm been?
Is there any chance he will be invited to appear on any of these news channels in the future or will he be blacklisted?
