Honestly Oliver!

Why is the idea that aliens solve the problems of interstellar space travel, come all that way and then communicate with us by stomping our corn so difficult to understand?


Imagine someday that we build an interstellar overdrive and successfully find an alien culture out there. Let's say that compared to us they don't have manners and are not cultured. Surely we too would descend secretly and whisper to a few of them that this kind of thing is NOT ON. Then we might have some fun with their corn fields and piss off again. Of course we would.
